community guidelines
good vibes only, here's what that means.
Rissme works because the people on it are real and kind. These are the rules everyone agrees to, and what happens when someone breaks them.
Last updated October 11, 2026
The rules
- Be who you say you are. Use real, recent photos of yourself and accurate information. No fake profiles, no impersonating anyone, no photos of other people.
- Respect everyone. No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or unwanted sexual messages and images. A no is a no.
- Keep photos appropriate. Profile photos cannot contain nudity or graphic violence.
- No scams, solicitation or promotion. Never ask for money or financial details, sell or advertise anything, or send spam and links to other services.
- You must be 18 or older. Anyone under 18 is not allowed on Rissme. Read our child safety standards.
- Report anything unsafe. If something feels wrong, tell us. You do not have to be sure.
Reporting and blocking
- You can report any profile or chat from inside the app. Reports are confidential, and the person is not told who reported them.
- You can block anyone. Blocking hides you from each other and keeps your chat with them in your inbox, locked, until you unblock. Their messages are not delivered to you, and they cannot see your profile or your online status. The other person is not notified. You can unblock from the chat or from your settings.
- You can unmatch at any time.
What happens after a report
- Our team reviews reports. We act as quickly as we can, and the most serious ones come first.
- If several different members report the same profile, it can be hidden from discovery automatically while we review it.
- Depending on what happened, we may remove content, hide a profile, suspend an account or ban it permanently. Banned accounts cannot sign in again.
- In serious cases, including anything involving child safety or a threat to someone's life, we may involve law enforcement where the law requires it.
- If you think we got something wrong, email rissme@theassemble.in and we will take another look.
Tools to keep you in control
- Selfie verification: members can prove their selfie matches their profile photos and earn the verified badge. Verified-only discovery hides everyone who is not verified.
- Privacy settings: incognito mode, hiding your distance or age, hiding when you are online, and turning read receipts off.
- Date safety check-in: before a date, set a check-in and add a trusted contact. If you do not tap "I'm safe" by your deadline, we email your contact.
- Block, unmatch and report, always one tap away.
Dating safely
- Chat in the app until you feel comfortable, and keep your phone number, address, workplace and financial details to yourself for now.
- Never send money, gift cards or crypto to someone you have not met, whatever the story. Report anyone who asks.
- Meet in a public place the first few times, tell a friend where you are going, and arrange your own transport.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, leave, then block and report.
- If you are ever in danger, contact local emergency services (112 in India) first.
