child safety standards
zero tolerance for child exploitation.
Rissme is an adults-only dating app. These are our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), and what we do when we find it.
Last updated October 11, 2026
Our standards: what is prohibited
- Any account belonging to, or impersonating, a person under 18. Rissme is for adults only.
- Any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers a minor, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any form, real or generated.
- Grooming, sextortion, or any attempt to contact, solicit or arrange to meet a minor.
- Sharing, requesting or linking to any material of this kind, inside or outside the app.
We have zero tolerance for any of this. We apply these standards to profiles, photos, voice prompts, chats and every other part of Rissme.
How we keep minors off Rissme
- Every account must give a date of birth, and anyone under 18 is refused at sign-up. Age is based on the date of birth entered, so we also rely on reports.
- Profile photos go through automated moderation before other people can see them.
- A report with the reason Underage is treated as a priority. Our safety team reviews it and removes the account if the person is under 18.
- The age range members can search in starts at 18.
How to report
- In the app: open the profile or chat, tap the menu, choose Report and pick the reason that fits, such as Underage or Threats or safety concern. You can add details, and if you report a message we keep the messages around it as evidence. The person is never told who reported them.
- By email, at any time: rissme@theassemble.in. Include the profile name or the email on the account and what you saw. Do not forward any child sexual abuse material to us. Describe it instead, and we will tell you what to do next.
- You can also report to the authorities yourself: the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in, helpline 1930) or Childline (1098) in India. If a child is in immediate danger, call 112.
What we do when we find it
- We remove the content and permanently ban the account, and banned accounts cannot sign in again.
- Reports about child safety are reviewed urgently. Where the law requires, we share them with law enforcement or the relevant authority, such as the Indian cybercrime portal and, where applicable, international bodies. We keep the minimum records needed for that.
- We cooperate with valid law enforcement requests related to child safety.
- If a report is about a risk to someone's life or to a child, we escalate it straight away instead of waiting in the normal queue.
Child safety contact and escalation
Our designated contact for child safety concerns, for law enforcement requests and for questions about these standards is the Rissme safety team at rissme@theassemble.in. We treat these emails as a priority and aim to acknowledge them within 24 hours.
If you are not satisfied with how a concern was handled, write to us again with the subject "Child safety escalation" or use the Grievance Officer page. See also our community guidelines.
